***UPDATED*** Mankato Police arrest suspect in shooting on Holly Lane
Mankato Police have arrested A’Quan Kaishaid Laurence Thorton, 23, of Mankato, in connection with the shooting death of Muridi Hassan Hussein, 27, also of Mankato.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:25 a.m. in the 400 block of Holly Lane. Following the shooting, the victim’s vehicle was driven to a parking lot off Star Street, where Hussein was pronounced deceased.
The investigation remains ongoing and authorities are asking anyone with information or surveillance footage related to the incident to call 911.
Mankato Police are being assisted in the investigation by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) and the Minnesota River Valley Drug Task Force.
