Mankato Police Department Responds to Missing Officer Facebook Post
The Mankato Police Department issued a response to a Facebook post claiming a Mankato Police officer was missing. In a post on their Facebook page:
Important Message Regarding Viral Post We’ve received several messages and calls from concerned community members regarding a viral Facebook post claiming that a female police officer from Mankato is missing and that a Silver Alert has been issued.
We want to clarify: this post is NOT accurate and does not involve the Mankato Department of Public Safety. The photo being used has been falsely circulated across the country with different agency names attached.
All of our officers are safe and accounted for.
No Silver Alert has been issued in our area.We appreciate those of you who reached out with concern—it’s a good reminder to always verify information through official sources. If you ever have a question about something you see online, don’t hesitate to contact us.
