MANKATO, Minn. — The Minnesota State Athletic Department is excited to announce a new partnership with Athletes Thread to enhance our student-athletes by providing new opportunities for name, image, and likeness (NIL) representation through custom merchandise and personal tools.

Student-athletes on all 20 of Minnesota State’s teams now have access to Athletes’ Threads’ extensive online platform, which enables them to create and sell personalized apparel, including replica versions of their own jerseys and uniforms for several of our sports.

“It’s not very often that you see one partnership address so many needs at one time, but that’s exactly what we see with Athlete’s Threads,” said Kevin Buisman, Director of Athletics. “Students-athletes are seeking new NIL options, and their families, friends and other fans are looking for branded, customizable, sport-specific apparel. It also provides the department with another platform to promote the brand and we can develop our own revenue generation opportunities around it if we choose to. This relationship is a win for everybody!”

Athlete’s Thread is an NIL merchandise platform empowering student-athletes across the nation with free, compliant access to custom apparel stores. Their mission is to simplify personal brand building while helping student-athletes earn income and engage in their communities. Currently, over 400 institutions collaborate with Athletes Thread, including a majority of the “Power Four” Institutions.
