Minnesota DOE Suing Feeding Our Future For Legal Fees

(Minneapolis, MN)  —  The Minneapolis Department of Education is suing Feeding Our Future for 583-thousand dollars in legal fees the agency spent defending what leaders call a “sham” lawsuit.  The nonprofit sued the Education Department in 2020 after the state cut its funding following concerns about a large increase in the number of poor children the organization claimed to be feeding during the pandemic.  The Education Department claims that Feeding Our Future’s lawsuit was a distraction to keep the state from discovering a massive fraud scheme by the nonprofit that cost the government more than 250-million dollars.
