Missing Nicollet County Farmer Found Deceased
On December 31st at 5:27 PM the Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a missing person from a farm site in Lafayette Township, rural New Ulm. Information gathered was John Huelskamp age 85, went outside to do some work with his cattle and had not been seen for an unknown amount of time. Nicollet County Deputies responded and began searching the area for the missing person. Other agencies that assisted were New Ulm Police Department K9 unit, Minnesota State Patrol-Air Unit, Sibley County Sheriff’s Office K9 unit, and New Ulm Fire Department. Agencies searched until shortly after midnight and were unsuccessful in locating the missing party. On January 1ST around 7:15 AM, a search resumed and Huelskamp was located deceased on the property. An autopsy will be done to determine cause of death.
