The Minnesota Department of Transportation will host a public open house on Wednesday, Sept. 2, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Spring Lake Park Warming House/Swim Facility (641 Webster Avenue, North Mankato) to share information on the upcoming Highway 169 Revitalization project, planned for 2027-2028 construction.

There will be no formal presentation, and people are welcome to stop by at their convenience during the open house. MnDOT staff will be available to answer questions about the project, construction timelines, and detour routes.

Building upon the Mankato/North Mankato Area Planning Organization (MAPO) Highway 169 Corridor Study, this two-year project will revitalize Highway 169 as a gateway into Mankato and North Mankato. Key project benefits include improving safety, traffic flow, and bicycle and pedestrian accommodations. The project includes pavement and aesthetic improvements, construction of two roundabouts and two pedestrian underpasses, new trail connections, a noise wall, utility work, and bridge repairs.
