Moondogs and Habaneros both pick up wins on Monday

The Mankato Moondogs snapped a 4 game losing streak with a 5-1 win over the Badlands Big Sticks on the road last night. Nick Johnson from Shakopee, and Minnesota State, picked up his first win of the summer, going 6 1/3 innings, giving up 1 run off of 4 hits, struck out 8, and walked 1. Mankato is now 8-12 on the season, in 6th place in the Great Plains West Division. The Dogs are in Dickinson, North Dakota again tonight against the Big Sticks, first pitch at 6:35

The Mankato Habaneros outslugged Grand Forks 16-12 on the road last night. Game was tied at 10 after 2 ½ innings. The Habaneros would score 4 in the 5th to take control. Kylinn Stangl, from Madison Lake and the University of Minnesota, pitched a complete game picking up her 2nd win of the season. Mankato is now 2-3 and are in Grand Forks again tonight first pitch at 7:05
