Public Invited to County State Aid Highway 5 and US Highway 14 Open House on July 8th
Blue Earth County, in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Transportation, is planning to reconstruct the ramps and intersection of County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 5 (3rd Avenue) and US Highway 14. Roundabouts are being considered for construction at the intersections of CSAH 5 and the on/off ramps to US Highway 14 to improve the flow of traffic, reduce crashes, and improve mobility. Sidewalk and trail connections will also be upgraded to current standards.
The public is invited to an open house on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (presentation at 4:30 p.m.) at the Blue Earth County Highway Department located at 35 Map Drive, Mankato. Information will be shared about the project to solicit public feedback regarding the proposed roundabout intersection alternative, and staff will be present to answer attendee questions and address comments.
The purpose of the open house is to share the planning work done so far and solicit any comments the public may have.
The project is anticipated to be scheduled for construction between 2028-2030 in the upcoming 2026-2030 Transportation Improvement Program.
