Reminder For Kids and Ice Safety

Falls through the ice or into open water this time of year can turn tragic quickly, and each year result in serious injuries or deaths.

“With the holidays and kids home it’s really important that parents continue to talk to their kids and remind them about the risks of ice.”

DNR Ice Safety Coordinator Nicole Biagi says parents and guardians need to be especially vigilant about watching kids and ensuring children’s innate curiosity about the water and ice doesn’t put them at risk.
