Report: Minnesota Public Schools Lost Students Again This Year
There are, once again, fewer students at Minnesota’s public schools. The latest headcount from the state’s Department of Education shows there are 870 thousand kids in public schools across Minnesota. That’s down about 500 from last year. But it’s down almost 15 thousand kids from just six years ago. The state’s numbers show a modest increase in private and charter school enrollment this year, to just over 72 thousand students. But that’s up almost seven thousand students over the same six years.
