School Staff Member Drowns On Weekend Retreat In Brainerd

(Brainerd, MN)  —  A Hutchinson man is dead after being pulled from the water at a youth camp in Brainerd.  Authorities say the 30-year-old man was on a retreat with students from Maplewood Academy at North Star Camp when he died yesterday.  Deputies say the man went under the water but didn’t surface, and was pulled out by a student.  The man was later pronounced dead at the hospital.  No other details have been released.
