Season Ending Soon for Household Hazardous Waste Facility and Product Reuse Center

The Blue Earth County Regional Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility and Product Reuse Center are closing for the regular season at the end of October. Remaining hours are Tuesdays from 12 – 6 pm, Wednesday & Thursdays from 12 – 4 pm through the end of October and Saturday, October 8th from 8 am – 12:30 pm. The final day of the season will be Thursday, October 27, and the facility will be closed for the month of November.

The facility will re-open for limited winter hours beginning December 6th for Blue Earth, Nicollet, and Le Sueur County residents. Winter hours will be open for material drop-off only on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 – 4 pm during the months of December, January, and February. The facility will close again for the month of March. Proof of residency (license, utility bill, tax document) will be required upon arrival. The Product Reuse Area will not be available during winter operations.

The HHW Facility accepts household wastes free of charge from residents. Examples of items include paint, household cleaners, yard and garden products, certain automotive products, caulking material, fluorescent bulbs, and aerosols. Please store any hazardous materials (including latex paint) in a warm area during the winter months to ensure they do not freeze.

The regular 2023 season at the HHW Facility will begin on Tuesday, April 4th.
