A second hearing tomorrow (Tues 830am) on an abortion rights bill that Democrats are fast-tracking through the Minnesota House, after it cleared its first committee last Thursday following emotional testimony on both sides.  Doctor Sarah Traxler, chief medical officer with Planned Parenthood North Central States, told lawmakers one of her patients, a mother of three, was struggling to pay rent; another drove nine hours:

…”because none of her local doctors would take care of her, even though she had a lethal fetal diagnosis.”

Sherry Litz from Hastings urged lawmakers to reject the bill:

“I’m here today to be that voice for the babies that are crying out yesterday, today and tomorrow.  This is a life, a human life, that you are voting to let them live or to let them die.”

A state Supreme Court ruling preserved abortion rights in Minnesota despite the U-S Supreme Court overturning Roe -v- Wade, but pro-choice forces want additional insurance.   Opponents warn the measure is even more extreme than Roe.
