Three Minnesota Congress Members Called Out For Stock Trading Conflicts

(St. Paul, MN)  —  Three Minnesota Congress members are being called out for alleged stock trading conflicts.  Democratic U.S. Representatives Dean Phillips and Angie Craig and U.S. Senator Tina Smith were named in a newly released New York Times report along with nearly 100 other current members.  The analysis found that between 2019 and 2021, they either bought or sold financial assets that conflicted with their congressional work, or reported similar transactions by their spouse or dependent child.  Phillips, Craig, and Smith were the only members of the Minnesota congressional delegation named in the report.  Republican Party of Minnesota spokesman Nick Majors says the Times report “raises serious questions about who they represent.”
