Travel and tourism leaders gather at annual conference

Travel and tourism leaders from across the state are in Bloomington today for Explore Minnesota’s annual conference. Executive Director Lauren Bennett McGinty says tourism is a major economic driver around the state:

“In 2022 we welcomed more than 77 point 2 million visitors to Minnesota in December of 2022 approximately 254,000 people were employed in the leisure and hospitality industry this is a 10% over the last year.”

Last year leisure and hospitality venues across the state generated nearly 100 million dollars in state sales tax.
