Update to Mankato Overdose Cases
Follow-up media release pertaining to the three JV overdoses on 01/31/2023.
Two of the three juvenile victims were released from the hospital leaving one in critical condition at this time.
31-year-old Patrick Orerigho Isiakpere Jr., 26-year-old Damarcus Deontay Holloway, and 35-year-old Tia Renee Schwichtenberg, all from the Mankato area, were arrested in connection to the three juvenile teen overdoses.
Isiakpere who has similar charges of firearms possession and sale of a controlled substance stemming from a prior investigation conducted by MRVDTF was recently released on 12/06/2022. Holloway was also just released from jail on 01/23/2023 and has prior convictions for ineligible persons in possession of a firearm and controlled substance charges.
On 01/31/2023, Agents with the Minnesota River Valley Drug Task Force developed leads into the source(s) responsible for the distribution/sales of the controlled substance that caused three juvenile teens to overdose earlier in the day.
At approximately 1710 hours agents located the suspects exiting a residence that agents knew one of the suspects frequented in the city of Mankato. One suspect was seen leaving the residence carrying a camouflage backpack and going between two vehicles associated with the suspect(s), while the other went to one of the vehicles and was seated in the passenger’s front seat.
During the execution of a subsequent search warrant agents located 377 M30 Pills, 2 firearms, cocaine, crack cocaine, and marijuana. Patrick Oterigho Isiakpere Jr., Tia Renee Schwichtenberg, and Damarcus Deontay Holloway were taken into custody at the conclusion of the search warrant.
Request for criminal charges includes but are not limited to the following:
- 2nd-degree-controlled substance sales
- 3rd-degree-controlled substance possession
- felon in possession of a firearm
- ineligible person in possession of a firearm
- Great Bodily harm caused by the distribution of drugs
Some charges have the possibility of being aggravated considering the age of the victims and the fact that a firearm was involved and present.
MRVDTF agents were assisted by Special Agents from the MN BCA, Officers with the Mankato Department of Public Safety, and Blue Earth County Deputies.
