Expanding biofuels infrastructure is one of the topics of the U-S Senate Agriculture Committee’s first hearings on the 2023 Farm Bill.  U-S-D-A Under Secretary Xochitl Torres Small told Senator Amy Klobuchar about a meeting she had in Minnesota with a man who is a mayor, farmer and a banker:

“He talked about how being a farmer the biofuels industry was crucial to him. Being a banker, he saw it as a resilient, an opportunity to strengthen all economic development and investments in his community. And then being a mayor it added to his bottom line in tax base because there was recently a biorefinery that located near him.”

Torres Small says U-S-D-A wants to add infrastructure in rural areas to ensure the ability to distribute and use higher-blend biofuels.
