Violent Crime Up In Minnesota
(St. Paul, MN) — A newly released report shows an increase in violent crime in Minnesota. The 2021 Uniform Crime Report released Friday by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says violent crime went up 22-percent last year in comparison with 2020. Officials say aggravated assault went up the most of all violent crime categories. The homicide rate in the state was nine-percent higher last year versus 2020, at just over 200. Use of force incidents decreased to 30 last year from 45 in 2020.
