Visit Mankato is proud to unveil its new 2026 Mankato Marathon courses for the Full, Half, Relay, and 10K races. Following months of collaboration with a volunteer task force, the City of Mankato, Blue Earth County, and Minnesota State University, Mankato partners, the new courses are designed to deliver a faster and flatter running experience while showcasing the best of Mankato.

The updated courses introduce a new start location on the Minnesota State University, Mankato campus and a finish on South Second Street, with post party celebrations returning to the 500 block of South Front Street that runners have come to know and love.

To support the point‑to‑point course design, shuttle buses will be provided Saturday morning, transporting participants from downtown Mankato to the start line on campus, ensuring a smooth and convenient race‑day experience.

“We’ve heard loud and clear from runners over the years that while Mankato’s hills are memorable, they aren’t always their favorite,” said Joy Leafblad, Director of Strategic Initiatives – Sports Tourism & Downtown Partnership at Visit Mankato. “These new routes represent months of collaboration and planning, and the result is a course that’s flatter and faster, while still highlighting the scenery, neighborhoods, and community pride that make running in Mankato such a unique experience.”

While the longer-distance races will feature brand‑new routes, the popular 5K and KidsK courses will continue through Sibley Park, maintaining a familiar and scenic option for families, first‑time runners, and participants seeking a shorter distance.

New course maps are now available at mankatomarathon.com. Additional race weekend details will continue to be shared in the coming months.
