Walz back in Minnesota after holiday visit to MN Natl Guard troops in Kuwait
Governor Tim Walz is back from a weekend in Kuwait, visiting over 100 Minnesota National Guard members in the 3-47th Regional Support Group and the 1-47th Human Resources Company. The governor says their mission is “critically important”:
“Establishing the safety and security of the transition of the Iraqi government, and making sure that those elements that want to do harm, especially to the Allied nations, do not have a chance to regroup in a 2.0 situation, ISIS 2.0 if you will.”
Walz says Guard members know what they signed up for and their families are “fiercely self-sufficient” — but he’s asking Minnesotans who know National Guard families to say “thank you”, volunteer for chores, and do something extra for a child whose parent is serving the state over the holidays.
