Water main flushing scheduled to begin Sunday, September 27
Mankato water mains will be flushed from Sunday, September 27, through Friday, October 2. Flushing is scheduled to occur nightly from 8:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
This maintenance in the spring and fall is necessary to help the water distribution system remain in good working order.
- Flushing occurs overnight in efforts to reduce inconveniences.
- Plan to avoid or limit water usage during water main flushing.
- Allow at least 1-hour after flushing operations for the water to clear.
- Although the water is safe to drink, there may be some discoloration until it clears.

- Section 3–8:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 29 to 5:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 30
East of Monks Avenue and south of Hoffman Road, Prairie Winds development and Viking Terrace area - Section 4–8:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 30 to 5:00 a.m., Thursday, October 1
