Mankato Area Public Schools Updates Facility Rental Fee Structure for 2025–2026
Mankato Area Public Schools (MAPS) has updated its facility rental fee structure following a comprehensive review of current rates and usage trends. The updates, which will take effect in the 2025–2026 fiscal year, are part of an effort to ensure rental fees are equitable, regionally aligned, and fiscally sustainable.
The district conducted a comparative analysis of rental rates across Big 9 Conference schools and other districts with similar community demographics. The findings revealed that, in many cases, MAPS’ rental fees were below the regional average.
“These changes reflect a thoughtful, data-informed approach to better align with peer districts while continuing to responsibly manage taxpayer-funded facilities,” said Audra Nissen Boyer, Director of Community Education. “Our goal is to ensure our facilities remain accessible and well-maintained for the many community groups who rely on them.”
Key updates include:
- Adjusted rental fees that better reflect current market comparisons.
- A standard practice of implementing a modest 3–5% annual increase going forward to maintain consistency and cost coverage.
MAPS values its community partnerships and remains committed to transparency and long-term planning in support of shared facility use.
