Sibley County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Single Vehicle Crash Sunday Near Severance Township
On Sunday July 20th, 2025 at approximately 9:23 pm, the Sibley County Sheriff’s Office responded to a one-vehicle crash in the ditch near the intersection of County Road 8 and County Road 2, Severance Township, approximately 3 miles South from the City of Gibbon, MN.
It was learned Brian Carlson, age of 41 of Lafayette Minnesota, was traveling south on County Road 2 when he entered the ditch into a wooded area causing it to crash into a tree. Brian was driving a 2007 Mercury SUV and had driver side airbag deployment. Brian sustained minor injuries and was not transported by ambulance.
The vehicle sustained heavy disabling damage causing it to be towed from the scene. The Sibley County Sheriff’s is currently investigating this incident.
