Local radio broadcasting legend Mike Sullivan retires today. Long-time radio voice of Minnesota State men’s hockey, Sullivan, announced his retirement after an illustrious 24-season career. A fixture at Radio Mankato since 2000 and co-host of the Morning Blend on AM 1420 KTOE, Sullivan revealed his decision, with his final day set for June 30. Known for his passionate broadcasts and vivid storytelling, Sullivan’s tenure saw him call 914 games, becoming synonymous with Maverick hockey’s most iconic moments. Under his voice, Minnesota State achieved significant milestones, including multiple NCAA Tournament appearances and conference championships. His departure marks the end of an era for Maverick hockey, celebrated by colleagues and fans alike for his unmatched dedication and professionalism.
