Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Greater Mankato Raises $119,829 for Programs and Research
Local community members recently came together for this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s®– Greater Mankato on Oct. 4 at Spring Lake Park. 664 walkers, donors and sponsors raised more than $119,825 to support the Alzheimer’s Association’s classes and resources for local families, and advance dementia research.
Walk manager Rebekah Hartman said, “We are so grateful to each of our walkers, volunteers and generous community sponsors this year! This event provides an incredible opportunity to the community as it brings people impacted by Alzheimer’s and other dementia together so they do not have to face this disease alone.”
Team Gibbon was the top fundraising team at this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s, raising more than $10,715. This team walks in honor of Barb Bruns in their seventh walk. Barb’s family was taught the importance of making memories, patience and that life is too short. They continue to fight for a cure and reclaim the future for millions.
