Authorities investigating overnight gunfire on Monks Avenue

Mankato Police officers responded to the 1300 block of Monks Avenue at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, July 22 for a report of gunshots. Upon arriving, officers discovered numerous bullets in a nearby tree.  An apartment building behind the tree also sustained damage as a result of the gunshots. No injuries are being reported.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation. Residents and businesses in the area are being asked to check surveillance video for suspicious activity during this time. Anyone with information is urged to call 911 or contact the Mankato Police Department at 507-387-8725.
