Join us on June 13th for an unforgettable evening where history meets Hollywood. From Our Backyard to the Big Screen
In early 1965, Mankato native Bob Gardner, inspired by the James Bond films, crafted the story and screenplay for a captivating spy movie. With financial backing from the Mankato Rotary Club, he brought his vision to life, filming entirely in the Mankato area with local production crew, acting talent and over 200 community members.

Be Part of the Action
Now, 60 years later, you can immerse yourself in this unique experience! The event at the Kato Ballroom will feature:

  • Prizes for “Best Dressed Spy or Socialite”
  • An atmosphere filled with Cold War intrigue
  • Swinging 60s vibes and delectable vittles
  • A special showing of the newly digitized local classic Man on a Mission

More Than Just Entertainment
This special occasion goes beyond entertainment; it serves as a vital funding source that helps ensure today’s history is preserved for future generations. By attending “Man on a Mission,” you’re not only having a great time but also becoming a History Hero!  Your participation in this event makes a tremendous difference. Every ticket purchased and every donation made directly supports our mission and helps bridge the financial gap we are currently facing due to soaring expenses and reduced funding.

We look forward to seeing you at the event and continuing this journey of preserving history together.
