- President Donald Trump is appointing a new U.S. Attorney for the District of Minnesota. He has selected former federal prosecutor Joseph Thompson to replace Andrew Luger, who stepped down in January. The selection is a Minnesota native who earned a bachelor’s degree at Gustavus Adolphus College and a law degree at Stanford Law School. Lisa Kirkpatrick has been serving as the acting U.S. attorney.

Blue Earth County Historical Society Hosting “Man on the Moon” Dinner and Movie
- A new sports facility in Rochester is a step closer to happening. The City Council voted yesterday to annex and rezone a 158-acre site not far from the Shoppes on Maine shopping center. The project includes eight fields for baseball and softball, 12 pickleball courts, two turf soccer fields, and a basketball court. Construction is planned for later this year with a projected opening of 2027. Meanwhile, phase two of the project includes indoor facilities
- The Minnesota High School state softball tournament will resume today after it was postponed yesterday due to rain in North Mankato. Action will get underway at 5 p.m. at Caswell Park. Minnesota High School League officials say there may be more delays. They plan to reconsider the issue in the early afternoon. (NOTE: The State Softball Tournament was fully postponed to Wednesday)
