The Blue Earth County Public Works department is moving and will officially begin operating at a new location located at 19505 Stoltzman Road, Mankato, MN, starting Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

Members of the public that are requesting services from the Public Works department today, January 16, should call prior to visiting to ensure the appropriate staff are available to assist.  Offices are closed on Monday, January 19 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr Day. The phone numbers will remain the same with the main phone line of (507) 304-4025. Operations will resume at the new location on Tuesday, January 20.

The new Public Works facility is located at the intersection of County Road 16 (Stoltzman Road) and County Road 90.

The relocation marks a significant upgrade from the County’s previous Public Works facility, which was built in 1974 and had reached the end of its useful life.

The facility includes expanded space for vehicle and equipment storage, maintenance of road and parks equipment, and office space for clerical, engineering, and operational staff. The main office building, a modern, 90,000-square-foot building, was designed to support the County’s long-term infrastructure needs and improve efficiency in delivering essential services to residents.

A public open house is being planned for a later date. Additional details will be shared on Blue Earth County’s Facebook page, the Mankato Free Press, and the County website at www.blueearthcountymn.gov.
