BREAKING: Suspect in MN State Lawmakers Shootings Caught
Officials in Minnesota are providing more details on the capture of the suspect in the killing of a Minnesota state lawmaker. Vance Boelter was captured alive near Green Isle after being spotted on a trail earlier Sunday by a camera. Brooklyn Park Police Chief Mark Bruley told reporters that the chase to capture Boelter was the “largest manhunt in the state’s history” and included hundreds of detectives and 20 different SWAT teams.
Superintendent of the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Drew Evans says Boelter was armed when he was taken in. Boelter is accused of killing state lawmaker Melissa Hortman and her husband.
He’s also accused of shooting Democratic Senator John Hoffman and his wife, with Governor Tim Walz saying Hoffman is out of surgery and moving towards recovery.
