City of Mankato Accepting Public Service Grant applications
Mankato – Public service grant applications are being accepted for the City of Mankato’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program from now through Friday, August 22, at 4:30 p.m.
Eligible applicants include social service providers who assist low to moderate income households with needs, such as, affordable child care, aging in place/chore services/senior services, education services, food support, services for homeless persons, landlord/tenant education and/or relationship building, medical care/health services, rental assistance/subsistence payments, services for people with disabilities, substance abuse services, transportation, or youth services.
Funded activities must provide a new or expanded service level of an existing public service. For past CDBG public service grant recipients, the public services can be at the same level in subsequent program years. As part of this competitive process, applications will be reviewed and selected based on a number of criteria, including, but not limited to, benefiting those with low to moderate income, amount of leveraged funds, capability of the organization to implement the service and compliance with federal regulation.
It is estimated that up to $65,000 will be available and the minimum grant award is $3,000. Funding is provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
