The Minnesota Department of Public Safety (DPS) is looking to give away 10,000 gun locks at the State Fair and elsewhere in the coming weeks in order to help prevent avoidable accidents or gun violence crimes…

“We want to stop the unintentional shootings by children of children and we want to stop the increasing rate of guns getting into the hands of people that shouldn’t have them and we think that gun locks are a great first step to keep people safe.”

DPS Commissioner John Harrington says the locks will be available at the DNR and DPS booths at the fairgrounds during the run of the fair. Or you can visit the DPS website.
