Fairmont Man Charged with Methamphetamine Possession

A Fairmont man was charged with possession of nearly 3 grams of methamphetamine. Dillion John Dougherty of Fairmont was charged in Blue Earth County District Court Thursday. Charges include:

5th Degree Drug Possession or paraphernalia residual of non cannabis/hemp, a Felony with a Maximum Sentence of 5 years or a $10,000 fine, or both

According to the criminal complaint On January 2, 2025, Mankato Department of Public Safety was on patrol in Mankato, Minnesota, Blue Earth County. Officers observed a vehicle parked underneath the bridge. Officers approached the vehicle and spoke to a female in the driver’s seat about parking there. The female indicated she did not have a valid driver’s license. The passenger, later identified as Dillion John Dougherty, got out of the vehicle to switch spots so he could drive. As he was doing this, officers observed a bubble pipe with a white residue. Dougherty later stated he had methamphetamine on his person. Officers found a sandwich bag with approximately 2.85 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Dougherty has prior convictions under Chapter 152 from court files 46-CR-22-331 and 46-CR-16-129.
