GOP candidate for governor Scott Jensen to unveil education plan

Republican candidate for governor Scott Jensen and running mate Matt Birk unveil their ten-point education plan this afternoon (330pm) at the Minnesota State Fair, which they say will empower parents, put teachers and students before bureaucracy, and reward excellence in education.  It comes the day after Governor Tim Walz released his “Teacher” ad, slamming Jensen’s stance on education:

Reporter:  Do you support more money for public schools or less money?

Jensen:  “Less money.  I think it’s a black hole.”

Jensen says Minnesota spends on average 13 thousand dollars per pupil and doesn’t have the results to show for it.  He says the governor is beholden to education bureaucrats.  Walz contends investments in public schools are essential for Minnesota to have a prosperous future
