The Southwest Minnesota Housing Partnership (SWMHP) is proud to host a groundbreaking celebration for five new homes in Saint Peter, including three that will be added to the Partnership Community Land Trust (PCLT). This event highlights a significant step forward in expanding affordable homeownership opportunities in the region—and offers a moment to recognize the vital support of Nicollet County and the City of Saint Peter, who are investing in all five homes. The three homebuyers for PCLT homes will also benefit from the support of the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency.

Time: 5:00–6:00 p.m.
Location: 2103 Lundin Avenue, Saint Peter, MN

Currently, three homes are under construction, including one PCLT home. Construction on two additional PCLT homes is slated to begin soon. By placing these homes in the Partnership Community Land Trust, we ensure they will remain affordable for generations to come, creating long-term housing stability for low- to moderate-income families.

The event will include a ceremonial groundbreaking, remarks from key community partners, and opportunities for residents to learn more about how the community land trust model works and why it’s a powerful tool for keeping homeownership within reach.

“We’re not just building houses—we’re building lasting affordability,” said Jen Theneman, SWMHP’s Director of Real Estate and Community Development. “Thanks to the shared commitment from the City, County and State, these homes will serve families now and far into the future.”

All are welcome to join this celebration of community partnership, local investment, and a shared vision for housing that supports everyone.
