Hilltop Planning Area Study Open House Scheduled for April 29

The City of Mankato invites community members to attend the final Hilltop Planning Area Open House on April 29 from 4–6 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran College.

Residents have played a significant role in shaping the plan through various community engagement opportunities. Throughout 2024, four community engagement events were held at which the community provided valuable insights that have been incorporated into a draft plan.

During this final Hilltop Planning Area open house, attendees will have the chance to review the draft plan. City staff will also be available to talk about the findings of transportation data that was collected over the past few months. Data collection points were selected based on community input from prior engagements.

The Hilltop Planning Area Study began in December 2023. The area, which is bound by Madison Avenue, Victory Drive, Main Street, and the bluff line west of Crocus Street, has gone through various changes, including expansions of both large and small institutions and commercial properties along Madison Avenue.

This open house is an opportunity for residents to review the data and share any final thoughts before the plan is presented to the City Council.
