Local celebrities to play in 10th Annual LEEP Legends softball fundraiser on Thursday, July 17
Leisure Education for Exceptional People, Inc. (LEEP) will hold its tenth annual LEEP Legends softball fundraising event featuring a rematch between returning champion Wow!Zone/Victory Bowl versus Aluma at ISG Field in Mankato on Thursday, July 17. New this year, the Wow!Zone/Victory Bowl team is made up of rookies, while the Aluma team will feature all LEEP Legends alumni!
Attendees can expect a fun family-friendly experience very similar to a Mankato MoonDogs or Habaeros game with full concessions available. Gates will open to the public at 5:00 p.m. The Mankato Motors Home Run Derby featuring LEEP Legends alumni will begin at approximately 5:30 p.m. The first pitch will be thrown at 6:35 p.m.
The celebrity softball game will feature 28 well-known community members from the Greater Mankato Area. The rosters of local celebrities have been having fun practicing for the upcoming LEEP Legends game can be found on LEEP’s website.
Significant in-kind support for the event is being provided by Minnesota 100, Hot 96.7, and KATO Hits 93.1 (Radio Mankato-owned stations), and the Mankato MoonDogs and Mankato Habañeros. Tickets are available for purchase online at https://www.pinwheel.us/register/index/LEEPLegends2025 and can also be purchased from any LEEP Legends player. The cost of tickets is $25 for adults and children ages 15-17; $15 for children ages 4-14; and free for children 3 and under. Tickets will also be available for purchase at both gates on game day as well. The only weather that will cancel the event is lightning.
This year will also feature Muttnik’s Mascot Trot, which is a race featuring local mascots including the Mankato MoonDog’s mascot, Muttnik as well as other well-known local mascots! Children will have the opportunity to meet the mascots and take pictures at a designated time during the game.
All event attendees are also welcome to attend the after party at Wow!Zone immediately following the game. Local musician Garrett Steinberg from Neon – LIVE will provide live entertainment.
