Mankato Area Public Schools to Host Open Houses Showcasing Bond Referendum Construction Projects to Facilities
The Mankato Area Public Schools (MAPS) will hold a series of Open House events at six school campuses so community members can tour facility improvements that have been made as a result of the 2023 bond referendum. These enhancements focus on improved safety (secure entrances and offices) and expanded facilities (including a new pool and gym at Dakota Meadows Middle School).

About the Bond Construction
In 2023, school district residents approved $105 million in facility improvements across MAPS. Over the last two years, projects have included:
- Enhanced student and staff safety by installing secure entrances and office spaces in elementary and middle schools.
- A competitive and community swimming pool at Dakota Meadows Middle School, along with a gymnasium to support physical education, co-curricular and community programming.
Projects will continue for the next two years, including safety and HVAC improvements at several elementary sites, and phase one renovations at West High School including a secure entrance, flexible learning spaces, gymnasium and fine arts spaces.
