Mankato Area Youth Choirs Welcomes New Directors
Entering into its 32nd Season, Mankato Area Youth Choirs is excited to announce two new directors: Becca Walsh as director of Melodia Choir and Jonathan Shevy as director of Allegro Choir. Leah Ries returns as the Concert Choir director and Kristin Baty also returns as the director for the Training and Intermediate Choirs. Erin Anderson returns as accompanist for all choirs.
Becca Walsh will be directing the Melodia Choir which consists of students in grades 9-12. She is currently the choir director at Madelia Public Schools where she is busy building a successful program.
Jonathan Shevy is returning after a short leave as the director for the Allegro Choir. The Allegro Choir is for students in grades 4-5. Jonathan currently teaches in the Mankato Area Pubic Schools.
Registration is currently open for the MAYC 2025-2026 season. Families can register online at mankatoareayouthchoirs.org. Students from all over south-central Minnesota are welcome to join a choir. All students who are registered before August 15 will receive a free 2025-2026 season t-shirt.
Rehearsals begin Monday, September 8th and take place at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mankato. Registration will remain open until September 22.
