Mankato Department of Public Safety released their monthly statistics report for December and for the full year of 2024.

Total Group A Offenses (which include offenses such as: Arson, Assault, Bribery, Burglary – Both Residential and Commercial, Counterfeiting/Forgery, Criminal Damage to Property, Drug/Narcotic Violations, Drug Equipment Violations, Embezzlement, Extortion/Blackmail, Fraud Offenses, Gambling Offenses, Homicide Offenses, Human Trafficking Offenses, Kidnapping/Abduction, Larceny-Theft Offenses, Motor Vehicle Theft, Pornography/Obscene Material, Prostitution Offenses, Robbery, Sex Offenses, Sex Offenses, non-forcible, Stolen Property Offenses, Weapon law Violations, Animal Cruelty) saw an increase to 251 total offenses in December of 2024. There were 233 Group A Offenses in December of 2023. This represented an 8% increase from December 2023 to December 2024.

Group B Offenses (which include offenses such as: Curfew/Loitering/Vagrancy, Disorderly Conduct, Driving Under the Influence, Family Offenses- Non-Violent, Liquor Law Violations, Trespass of Real Property, All Other Offenses, NIBRS Non-Reportable Offenses) saw an increase to 538 Group B Offenses in December of 2024. This represented a 12% increase from December of 2023, which saw 480 Group B Offenses.

For the year 2024, there were 2991 Group A Offenses. This was a 3% decrease from 2023, which saw 3076 Group A Offenses.

There were 6975 Group B Offenses in 2024. This was an 16% increase from 2023, which saw 6017 Group B Offenses.

For the month of December 2024, there were 2356 total calls for Police Service. This was a 3% decrease from December 2023, which saw 2420 total calls for Police Service.

For the year 2024, there were 32030 total calls for Police Service. This was a 9% increase from 2023, which saw 29495 total calls for Police Service.
