Mankato Regional Airport Awarded for Outstanding Airport Planning
The City of Mankato and the Mankato Regional Airport have been recognized with the 2024 Outstanding Airport Planning, Environment, and Strategic Initiative Award by the Minnesota Council of Airports (MCOA). This award highlights the City’s commitment to thoughtful airport development, environmental stewardship, and long-term strategic planning.
The MCOA award celebrates airports that demonstrate excellence and innovation in planning and development initiatives that enhance the aviation industry in Minnesota. Mankato stood out among peers for the comprehensive approach taken involving the Air Traffic Control Tower Siting Study and Environmental Assessment.
