As temperatures begin to drop, The Salvation Army is calling on the community to help keep children safe and warm this winter. With rising living costs stretching family budgets thin, many parents are struggling to provide essential cold-weather clothing for their kids.

“Our team at the Family Thrift Store does an incredible job collecting winter wear items throughout the year,” said Captain Andy, officer and pastor with The Salvation Army in Mankato. “But when winter comes, the need is always greater. Coat drives like this allow us to be ready to help as many families as possible.”

The Salvation Army is seeking donations of new or gently used coats, hats, mittens, boots, and other winter gear for children of all ages. Every item collected will go directly to families in need here in the Mankato area.

Donations can be dropped off at: The Salvation Army Family Thrift Store 201 Star St., Mankato
Together, we can ensure no child has to face the cold without the protection they deserve.
