Minnesota Senate Okays Driver’s Licenses For Illegal Immigrants
(St. Paul, MN) — Illegal immigrants in Minnesota are one step away from getting a driver’s license. The Minnesota Senate yesterday approved a plan that will provide driver’s licenses to everyone in the state. Every single Democrat voted for the plan, every single Republican in the Senate voted against it. Governor Tim Walz has promised to sign the plan into law. Advocates say giving illegal immigrants driver’s licenses will help integrate them into the community, and could make the roads safer because people could get insurance and not be afraid to report crashes to the police.
