(Lakeville, MN)  —  The Minnesota State Patrol is urging drivers to watch out for deer.  November is the peak season for deer and car collisions.  The state’s Department of Transportation reported two crashes involving deer last week.  No one was seriously injured, but a car did burst into flames in one incident.  Officials warn that most crashes happen during the dusk and dawn hours.  Drivers who see a deer and are unable to stop are urged to hit the animal head-on rather than swerve out of the way.
