Missing Mankato Man Found Deceased

On 03-02-26 deputies located George Door deceased a short distance from his van down a steep embankment on Highway 68 near County Road 50. The incident remains under investigation in conjunction with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office. No foul play is suspected. Our thoughts are with George Door’s family and loved ones.

On March 1, 2026, family reported 84-year-old George Bruce Door of rural Mankato missing. Door was last seen at his rural Mankato home by his son around 8:00 am on 02-28-26. George Door’s landlord lives in the upstairs portion of the home and reported that he and his black 2007 Chrysler Town and Country minivan, MN license plate HHL901, were gone later that same morning.
Investigators have checked multiple areas of Blue Earth and Nicollet Counties but have been unable to locate George Door or his vehicle. The Sheriff’s Office requests assistance from the public as efforts to locate George Door continue.
