Missing Woman Found in Le Sueur River After Overnight Search

On July 17, 2026, at 6:55 p.m., the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing 50-year-old female. Deputies responded to her last known location at the Le Sueur River Access near County Road 90 and 195th Lane, approximately four miles south of Mankato.

When deputies arrived, they located the female’s vehicle, personal belongings, and her dog on the riverbank. A search of the area began with assistance from the Blue Earth County Drone Team, the Minnesota State Patrol helicopter, and the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit. Search efforts continued until approximately 1:30 a.m., with a small contingent of personnel remaining overnight. At 5:30 a.m., the search resumed with drones, watercraft, and the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office dive team.

At 7:15 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office received a report from individuals walking in the area who could hear someone in the river calling for help. Rescuers responded and were able to locate the female and safely rescue her from the water.

She was transported by Mayo Clinic Ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato as a precaution after being exposed to the elements throughout the night. She was treated for minor injuries and exposure and remains hospitalized in stable condition at the time of this release. The individual’s name is not being released out of respect for her privacy.

The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Mankato Department of Public Safety Police and Fire, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, the Minnesota State Patrol, and Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service.
