North Mankato Firefighters Respond to Garage Fire

 The North Mankato Fire Department was called to a car fire inside of a  garage structure at 1866 Lee Blvd. at 10:50 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.

Emergency crews arrived at a twelve-stall unattached garage structure to find flames emerging  from a vehicle inside a stall. Firefighters extinguished the fire and moderate damage was  confined to the vehicle and two end garage stalls, and all stalls on both sides sustained some  smoke damage. There were no injuries.

The North Mankato Fire Department was on scene for approximately an hour and a half, and  were assisted by North Mankato Police Department and Mayo Ambulance. Lee Boulevard was  temporarily closed for emergency crew access to the fire hydrant supply line.

The case remains under investigation by the North Mankato Fire Department and MN State Fire  Marshal’s Office.
