Due to recent heavy rainfall, portions of the Blue Earth County Red Jacket Trail have sustained significant damage. In the interest of public safety, the trail will be closed effective immediately from south of the Red Jacket Trestle to County Road 33.

County staff are currently assessing the extent of the damage, which includes washouts, unstable trail surfaces, and steep drop offs. Until repairs can be made and safety can be assured, this section of the trail will remain closed to all users. At this time, there is no estimated date for when the affected portion of the trail will reopen.

Trail users are urged to respect closure signs and avoid the area to prevent further damage and ensure personal safety. Blue Earth County appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during this time.
