Republicans draw sharper battle lines with Democrats over abortion, Smith warns about bill introduced
Republicans have drawn even clearer battle-lines with Democrats for the November election, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham on Tuesday introducing a bill for a nationwide abortion ban after 15 weeks of pregnancy. Democratic Senator Tina Smith warns:
“If that ban were to go into effect, it would have dramatic impacts on the kinds of care that providers would be able to provide women in Minnesota.”
Smith says a month or two ago, Republican Senator Graham said it was better to leave decisions about abortion to state legislatures. Graham said Tuesday, “America’s got to make some decisions.”
