Salvation Army needs Red Kettle bellringers for the holidays
It’s hard to believe it’s already that time, but the Salvation Army is looking for Red Kettle bellringers for their holiday fundraising drive which begins in only a few weeks. The Northern Division’s Dan Furry says 45-hundred shifts, two hours long, remain unfilled in the Twin Cities, and bellringers are definitely needed in Greater Minnesota as well:
“If you sometimes feel like you’ve forgotten what Christmas is all about, come out and ring a bell for an hour or two and you’ll soon remember.”
Furry says there’s concern that need for services could increase because the economy is not as strong as it was. He says 65 percent of the Salvation Army’s funding is raised in the last three months of the year, and that money is used to help struggling families throughout the year.
